Bird Day!

Lee was working on the front porch and I was sweeping the front porch.  Lee went to the garage to get a tool while coming back he said come quick it is an emergency.  I went to the side of the house there laid the robin's nest and 4 baby birds that had been twenty feet up on the side of the house.  Lee said it just fell off.  He scooped the baby birds up and put them in the nest. We looked around where to put the nest that mother bird could find them.  The only thing was a hanging flower basket so we put it in and went and waited on the porch to see if you could find them.  She found them right away but did not like the flower pot.

Up in the right corner on top of the electric line was where the nest was.

We went to supper at Bernadine's house.  When we came home I went upstairs to put the windows up. and I saw a bird flying around. It was a little wren.  We don't know how it got in. After getting the wren out. We watched the nest and saw mother bird was now feeding them.  There is only three now one died from the fall.

Happy Anniversary Monica & Eric

When driving down the roads or walking around trails there are wild flowers blooming everywhere.  They make me think of Monica & Eric's Wedding on June 1, 2013.  So this picture is you Monica and Eric.  Love you!

Big Daddy Gator

We now have a new work tool.  Alan & us have bought a John Deere Gator with a big bed and is 4 wheel drive.  We have had it a week now and hauled gravel, dirt, brush and a stump.

Pineapple Chamomile

I keep waiting for a weed to flower and then I was going to pull it by the garage.  Bother-in law Chris said one day that weed is Pineapple Chamomile.  So I read up on it.  Lipton sells Pineapple Chamomile tea.  The little bud (which is the flower) looks like a pineapple.

The bud is what you make the tea out of.

It really like crappy soil.  It is growing where we drive over and by the garage that is nothing but hard rocky soil.  The good part is you just take the bud and leave the plant to keep producing.

Longpoint Walk

Hiking with Lisa, Lee, Alan, Cliff and Gregg to hill on Longpoint.  We think we walked about 8 miles.  A lot of it straight up and straight back down.

We saw a porcupine under a rock.

Lilacs

My favorite flower is lilacs.  They don't grow in Florida so I have missed them.  I got these lilacs from Mom B brushes.  I buck has been fighting with my lilac brush for a couple of years and has killed half of the brush.  I am going to have to get a picture of him and put up wanted signs this hunting season.

They smell wonderful.  I can smell them here in the computer room.  I know my sister Robin is wanting to come here an arrange them, but it's hard with real flower on sticks.  I only took the flowers from the back of the brush so Mom B could still see them from her window and swing.

Quilt

Bernadine Cicciarelli let all her children pick a number between 1-7 last night.  She had 7 quilts that she had made and had put numbers on them.  Here is the quilt Lee got.

Pink is Bernadine's favorite color.

Mushroom Hunting

Moral mushroom hunting with Chris, Alan, Lee and Sandy Cicciarelli.  We found 75 moral mushrooms.  Great exercise too.

Alan is shocked to see how many mushrooms we have found.  Some of the moral mushrooms we found were as big as Sandy's hand.
